Salida Ca News would like to congratulate Mark Stone, Gerald DeBoer and Tom Bert for winning their seat on the Salida Fire Protection District Board.
A congratulations to Stu Gilman for winning the Modesto Irrigation District Board.
We look forward to following and reporting your progress, commitment and promises made to the district.

MID BOARD ELECTIONS
November 1, 2017

Jake Wenger won the MID Board election by a landslide in 2013. Jake has made himself available to all the district by giving out his personal cell phone and willing to answer any questions anyone in the district may have. Jake has been working very hard at getting the debt lowered. The debt spiraled out of control during the previous administration. Jake Wengers main goal is to get the debt paid down so electric rates can be lowered. Jake Wenger is also a rate payer along with everyone else. The past four years Jake Wenger and the present board have been able to get the dept lowered tremendously. This past month Jake announced that the MID Board was able to cut an addition $26,000,000 from the budget. Realizing what has just taken place, Jake informed Salida Ca News that they will more than likely be able to lower rates in 2018. Staying at the same rate of paying off the debt, and taking the twenty six million cut from the budget and passing that along to the paying customers and being able to lower rates in the process.
This is very promising and Jake Wenger is a great asset to the MID Board.
Endorsing Jake Wenger is the least we can do in support for all his hard work.
