Love Salida April 18, 2015
Several people from the community came out to participate in the efforts to help keep our community looking good.
Salida Rotary showed up and cleaned out the center divide.  Deputy Osmonson made an appearance and received his care package along with a big basket to share among all the deputies, he was assigned to Salida as a new deputy and is now transferred to a different location in the county near Patterson.  We do wish him the best and look forward to seeing him around.  Salida Firefighters also received their gift packages and a big basket, Gary Skiles was there to accept the packages and we enjoyed the visit.  Deputy Block also received his care package later in the day at the park and it is always a pleasure meeting up with him.
Some of the projects for Love Salida were alley clean up, Graffiti clean up, highway clean up, Girl Scout troop 4265 accepting donated stuffed friends for First Responders, canned foods and clothes for those in need.  Not all of the Deputies and officers were able to make the event so today we made a special trip to the Sheriff's Dept to hand out the rest of the care packages and we met up with one of our old friends not Sergeant MacKinnon and he accepted his care package, then we met up with Lieutenant Grom, we also had a care package for him, it is always nice to surprise our Law Enforcement with goodies.  We do appreciate all they do for our community and to show just a little gratitude is  the least we can do.  We then drove over to the CHP office and met up with Officer Martinez where he was also pleasantly surprised with the big care package for the officers.  We will do it again.  Thanks to all our Deputies, Firefighters and Officers for your service, we can't thank you enough for your service
.

Love Salida is Saturday, April 18th. This is a great opportunity to help out our community and meet new people. There are many projects to sign up for: donate food to Salida food bank, graffiti clean up, highway clean up, alley clean up and many more.

Event starts at 9:00 a.m. at the Salida Park on Broadway Ave.

Girl Scout Troop 4265 is excited to start collecting *NEW* Stuffed Animals for First Responders. The stuffed animals will go to the Salida Fire Department, Stanislaus County Sheriffs, and CHP to have in their emergency vehicles. The stuffed friends will benefit children who may be involved in an emergency situation and can use some extra comfort. Troop 4265 will be kicking off their project on Saturday, April 18th, Love Salida Day! They will be at Salida Park on Broadway Ave. from 9:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. accepting NEW stuffed animals.
